Winners announced for presentations recognising Lived Experience at the Lancet Public Health Science Conference in a prize sponsored by the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ MPH programme.

ÌýInÌýNovember, the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Master of Public Health (MPH) sponsored two prizes at the Lancet Public Health Science Conference, recognising outstanding presentations that incorporated the perspectives of those who have directly faced health challenges.Ìý

  • Dr Kerrie Stevenson, Public Health Doctor & NIHR Doctoral Fellow, ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ with lived experience experts Kemi Ogunlana and Rukayat Popoola (poster presentation prize)Ìý

Additionally, in a session at the conference, Serena Luchenski, MPH Co-Director, presented her research on hospital admissions for people experiencing homelessness in England at the conference. Her work delves into the intricacies of admissions for both physical health issues and psychosocial adversity.Ìý

The involvement of citizens with lived experience is one of six unique core themes underpinning the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Master of Public Health (MPH), which reflects a broader shift in the field towards a more inclusive approach to health and social care. The prizes were co-judged by Stan Burridge, Director of Expert Focus, who is the MPH’s main involvement partner. , a company leading involvement work with homeless and marginalised communities
