About

We are an interdisciplinary community of academics, researchers and students who together seek to solve some of the world’s greatest public health challenges.

Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Faculty of Population Health Sciences. We are a global leader in public health research working across disciplines to unravel the complex urgent health challenges facing everyone today.Ìý

We utilise the best scientific approaches including innovation in clinical trials, informatics, omics, data science, social science research and epidemiology to solve societal health problems. Our experts are at the forefront of researching new ways to tackle COVID-19, advancing knowledge in understanding heart disease and cancer, mental health, as well as examining the impacts of climate change on our health.

We work with different groups in populations, through the life course from childhood to the effects of ageing, women’s health, gender and black and minority ethnic groups. And we have a long-standing focus on inequalities addressing health challenges affecting disadvantaged populations.Ìý

Our students are closely integrated into our community through research-embedded teaching. We offer a range of high-quality undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes in all areas of population health and clinical sciences, including our new MasterÌýofÌýPublic Health (MPH).

Our exciting cross-disciplinary community encompasses ten institutes, schools and centres collectively, including the new ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Global Business School for Health – the world’s first business school dedicated to health offering a unique MBA.Ìý

Central to our mission is to improve health for all. We seek to do this through training the next generation of public and global health leaders, while influencing health policies and programmes globally through our research.Ìý

I am delighted to welcome you and invite you to join us on our journey.
