Research seminars

Social mobility and widening access research seminars at ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ 

Running in July and September 2019 at ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳'s central London campus, the seminars provided a space for debate and analysis of current issues affecting policy, practice and research in widening access and social mobility.

  • Dr Michael Donnelly and Dr Sol Gamsu, exploring the significance of place in young people's lives and future trajectories - Thursday 12th September 2019, 1.30-3pm
  • Professor Louise Archer, discussing the intersectionality of inequality, ethnicity, gender and social class - Thursday 19th September 2019, 1:30-3pm 
  • Karina Berzins, presenting research on POLAR4, and how rates of participation at Russell Group universities compare to overall progression to university - Wednesday 25th September 2019, 1:30-3pm 

In addition to running our own ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ research seminar series, we collaborate with  on their seminar programme, which aims to bring together academics and practitioners with an interest in widening participation and educational equality.Â
