A programme offering new students an intellectually enriching introduction to degree-level study and ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳, creating a sense of place and belonging before they arrive.
An exciting newÌýÌýforms part of students’ first contact with ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ and provides them with an academic, pastoral, social and physical orientation of the University.ÌýÌý
New students can access the fully online programme after they complete their online pre-enrolment.

A fourth theme, Future ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳, is under construction this yearÌýin partnership with students. It will provide a space where students can showcase their research, entrepreneurial and other exciting projects.
The online element of the programme centres on a number of ‘objects’ in and around ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳. By telling the stories behind these objects, with the help of engaging interactive multimedia, it aims to provide students with a feeling of place and belonging before they arrive.
The IP was developed as part of the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Education Strategy 2016-21, whichÌýcommittedÌýus to developing tas one of a series of initiatives to personalise student support, and to complement the review of ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Transitions Programme.

Spark discussion with your students - teaching resources
The Introductory Programme is not just an online experience; we encourage you to use it to spark dicussion and debate in the context of your own discipline. We've provided some resources to help integrate the IP into your face-to-face interactions with students - for example, in local induction events or personal tutor group meetings.Ìý
