NEW Guidelines publication "Cascading Effects and Escalations in Wide-Area Power Failures- A Summary for Emergency Planners"
13 October 2017
Our research group on Cascading DisastersÂ
The document provides a synthetic overview of the cascading effects caused by wide area power failures, defining the recurrent impacts and sources of escalation  in a clear and concise way. It is written to support the training and situational awareness of decision makers and emergency operators.Â
The initiative was promoted by our Ph.D. candidate and research group coordinator Gianluca Pescaroli, who undertook a period of Knowledge Exchange with London Resilience since last Spring.  It is part of the project "Integrating Cascading Disasters in London's Response and Preparedness Strategies" () , which  aimed to integrate the research work in London's preparedness strategies and contingency planning.  The guidelines were co/authored by our research group and the staff of London Resilience and published as ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ IRDR and London Resilience Special Report 2017-01
