Job description

The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning in this module, working with the academic modules leads through the delivery of small group teaching for students. An interest in supporting students with programming tasks is essential. The class teaches basic programming in R, but experience with Python is also welcome.

Key responsibilities

  • Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
  • After-class contact time with students, including time-tabled office hours;
  • Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
  • Marking students' work;
  • Giving feedback to students

Requirements for role

  • High level of literacy and numeracy;
  • Specialist skills appropriate to the course taught;
  • Educated to Masters degree level (or having equivalent experience), in related field;
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel, email, and the internet;
  • Working towards a relevant postgraduate degree (PhD).
