×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ will hold a one-day colloquium on 'Shaping the curriculum for a global university' on 23 June 2009. The colloquium will bring together colleagues from across the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ community to explore how departments are developing curricula that are international in scope and which embody ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳'s global citizenship principles.
The programme will include presentations from ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ staff on various approaches to the internationalised curriculum, opportunities for discussion and debate and a poster exhibition.
Internationalisation of the curriculum is an important strategic objective for ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳, and a key element of the Global Citizenship agenda. The term refers to the process by which ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ is developing its practice to ensure that students develop the attributes, skills and knowledge that will equip them for the demands of the twenty-first century.
