  • For many years ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ has had a very warm and productive relationship with the China Scholarship Council, which regularly funds a number of postgraduate students from the People's Republic of China to study at ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳.

It was, therefore, a great pleasure for Professor Moira Yip, ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Pro-Provost for China, Hong Kong & Macau, to welcome the following members of the Council to ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳, for a meeting to discuss ways of strengthening the relationship into the future: Ms Yang Xinyu, Deputy Director-General, Mr Wang Wenhua, Deputy Director (Division of Legal Affairs), Mr Hu Xiaopeng, Programme Officer (Division of Study Abroad Affairs), and Ms Xu Wei, Programme Officer (Division of Finance).

Also present were Ms Amelie Handke and Ms Shanz Begum, from the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Scholarship Office, Ms Julie Rolls, from the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ International Office, and Dr Andrew Pink, from the Office of the Vice Provost (Academic & International). Two ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ students who are funded by the Council were on hand to talk about their experiences of study at ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ and of the scholarship: Mr Wang Qi, a doctoral student in ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Chemistry, and Ms Wang Hua, a doctoral student in the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Institute of Archaeology.
