MSIN0222 Managing Finance is a postgraduate, introductory module covering selected topics relating to the management of financial resources in the context of achieving strategic objectives. It links financial planning with investment appraisal, financing decisions, and financial control. The module considers a range of relevant areas including capital funds strategy, approaches to growth, dividend policy issues, and financial risk management. Key aspects considered and explored are the theory and application of capital investment decisions, financing decisions, cost of capital issues, the nature of shareholder value and company valuation. It identifies the key financial challenges facing directors, VPs, and managers concerning the selection of projects they invest in, the financing of such investments, and the management of the relationship with finance providers.
