Description

This module will enable students to critically review, consolidate and extend the development of earlier projects (Making the Media II to IV) or develop a new advanced level project with an outcome of a fully- working prototype. The module brings together a student’s advanced design skillset, software knowledge and technical competency to create their most advanced games or immersive media application. It will introduce students to the principles of games analytics and usability and enable them to understand how this influences design principles. Students will develop a fully formed practice-based research project with a working prototype.

This module is suitable for the following pathways:

PATHWAY 2: Critical Media with Games – an emphasis on theory, but with a throughline of practical work in game, VR/AR/XR design running through Years 2 and 3. This pathway will follow the theory modules and all the practice modules in games and interactive media up to advanced level.Ìý

PATHWAY 3: Media Practice – an emphasis on design in both Film and Games/VR/AR/XR, with options in critical theory to complement this. This pathway will follow all the practice modules in both film and games up to advanced level, along with selected theory modules.Ìý
