Students will also assess the clinical management of patients in terms of appropriate treatments and the use of palliative care. This module will focus on the journey of the patient from initial presentation through to treatment and students will apply their understanding of this journey to specific case studies.
Students will undergo a quiz at the beginning of the module to explore their perceptions of cancer and will have an opportunity to compare and reflect upon their quiz results at the beginning and end of the module.
Group based discussions will take place through the module based on patient case studies. Each student will perform a literature review to the determine evidence-base for an aspect of management and at the end of the module will deliver a power point presentation.
