Generation ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳: an oral history of student life in London

The Generation ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ oral history project began interviewing former ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ students in 2022 to capture their memories of student life in London.

In the build-up to ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳’s bicentenary in 2026, the Generation ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ project is collecting a broad range of oral testimonies from former students at ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳. Full testimonies will be available from the beginning of 2025. A diverse range of people who studied a wide variety of subjects at ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ from the 1940s to the 2020s have been interviewed or will be interviewed over the course of 2024. The project is run by Dr Sam Blaxland, and is overseen by Professor Georgina Brewis at the IOE and John Dubber at Students’ Union ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳.

Generation ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ is part of a wider project researching the history of students in London since the 1820s, which will be part of marking ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳'s bicentenary in 2026.
