Application process

What are the entry requirements?

Our entry requirements vary per course, please check individual course pages.Ìý

You are required to meet our English language requirements, if you are a non-native speaker. Your English language test result must have been received no more than two years before the start of the course.Ìý

×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School language requirements are Level 2:

  • IELTS, 7.0 or above (minimum 6.5 in each component), ÌýÌý
  • TOEFL (Internet based), 96 or above (minimum 24/30 in reading and writing, 22/30 in listening and speaking)Ìý
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic), 76 or above (minimum 75 in each communicative skill)
  • CAE or CPE, 180 or above (minimum 172 in each component)Ìý

You do not need to submit evidence of your English language level if:Ìý

a) You are a national of a UKVI ‘majority English speaking’ country: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom or United States of America.Ìý

b) By the time you enrol on the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School, you will have completed 12 months* of education in a country thatÌý×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ considers to be ‘majority English speaking’: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Cameroon (only if the qualification is taught in English), Canada, Caribbean / West Indies (English-speaking Caribbean Commonwealth territories), Dominica, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore, South Africa, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Swaziland (Eswatini), Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States of America, Zambia, or ZimbabweÌý

*Please note that the 12 months of study must have happened less than two years prior to ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School enrolment.Ìý

English language courses and study preparation courses such as pre-Masters are not acceptable. All qualifications must have been studied in the country of the awarding institution.

What is the application deadline?

The deadline for applications is 19ÌýMay. We run a rolling admissions process which means once the course is full we close applications. Therefore we suggest you apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

How do I make an application and how is it processed?

Applications are made online by application form. ApplicationsÌýthat are submitted complete with correct supporting evidence will be processed within 10 working days. If we require further information we will email you. Please ensure that you submit all documentation together to avoid delays in processing your application.

What is the payment deadline?

If you are paying by credit card, tuition fees should be paid within 14Ìýdays of receiving your offer email. If you are paying by invoice, tuition fees should be paid within 30Ìýdays of receiving your offer email. Your place on the course is only guaranteed once we have received full payment.ÌýAfter 30 days has passed, your offer of a place will be withdrawn.

Is there accommodation?

Accommodation is arranged and paid for separately by the individual. ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School students are guaranteed accommodation in ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Halls of Residence. The halls are in central London, a short walk from Bentham House.Ìý

Once you have paid for your tuition fees you will be sent a code to use to book accommodation atÌýdiscounted rates.

Course informationÌý

How many hours of teaching are there?

There are three hours of teaching per day which amounts to 45 hours over the 15 days of the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School. Students are expected to complete 100 hours of additional study during this time.

How will I access the reading?

All reading materials will be provided by ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws.

Are the courses accredited?

It is currently not possible to gain credits when taking the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School.ÌýStudents will receive a Certificate of Completion providing that they attend at least 75% of classes and achieve a pass on the summative assessment.

Fees

What are the fees?

The standard tuition fee for the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School course is £3950 and £2950 for current students studying anywhere in the world.

What is included in the fees?

Fees include:

  • all teaching classesÌý
  • all reading materials
  • light refreshments each day
  • access to the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Library
  • networking opportunities
  • an end of course social
Does ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws offer discounts?

×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws offers a 20% discount to current ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ students, staff or alumni.

We also offer a 15% discount to:

  • individuals working in a non-commercial organisation
  • individuals currently not in employment
  • commerical organisations that send three or more individuals

The discount can only be applied once if any of the above apply.

How do I make a payment?

Upon receiving confirmation of a place, payments are made online in full via the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ store using a credit/ debit card. If you would prefer to receive an invoice please contact us.

Visas

Will I need a visa?

The UK visa policy allows visa-free entry for up to six months to citizens of several countries, most of which are from the EU and Commonwealth states. If you are not from the countries included on the visa-exemptions, then you will need to apply for a standard visa.

If you need to apply for a visa, you should make sure to apply for the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School course as soon as possible to make sure there is enough time for the visa process.

How do I obtain a visa letter?

The ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School office will be able to provide you with a visa letter. Please contact the ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws Summer School team.

Terms and Conditions

Could my course be cancelled?

A minimum number of individuals is required for each course to run. If the course is cancelled, ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws will let you know by 17 May at the latest.

WeÌýwill refund in full any course fees or give you the option to move your place to the next available course date. Please note that ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Laws accepts no responsibility for travel or accommodation arrangements or costs, and travel/ accommodation should be booked at your own discretion.

What is the refund policy for the programme?

If you are unable to attend, and not in a position to substitute your place to another person or move your booking to the next available date, then the following cancellation charges below will apply:

•ÌýÌý Ìý6-8 weeks before the course starts: Ìý40% of the fee paid
•ÌýÌý Ìý4-5 weeks before the course starts: 75% of the fee paid
•ÌýÌý ÌýLess than 28 days before the course starts: 100% of the fee paid.
