Contracts: when and why you need one (or more) and who to ask.

When do you need a contract?ÌýEvery time you exchange information, data or material, or enter into a working relationship with someone (a person, a founder, a charity, a pharma company etc) that is not ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳, you'll probably need some sort of written agreement.Ìý

Why do you need a contract?ÌýThe main reason is to protect the academic and the university. To make sure you are covered on all fronts (publications right, data ownership, IP etc). It is also good that activities are well-recorded for future trackability.Ìý
