2023 marks the 160th anniversary of the birth of James Samuel Risien Russell and the 100th anniversary of the start of Macdonald Critchley鈥檚 career at the National Hospital where he began as a House Physician under Risien Russell. The display featuring photographs, objects, and documents from Queen Square Archives.

We are very grateful to Denis Robertson for supplying Queen Square Archives with digitised cine film footage taken by E Graeme Robertson in 1933, and to George Kaim for creating a set of stills, and Nadeem Toodayan for producing an annotated video.
We鈥檙e delighted to launch the first in a series of archive film footage, a gift to the archives from Professor Andrew Lees (via James Kinnier Wilson, Samuel Kinnier Wilson鈥檚 grandson): A film of patients with movement disorders made by Samuel Kinnier Wilson in Queen Square, London in the Mid-1920s, with new captions by Professor Andrew Lees. Additional archive film footage will be added to a compilation on this website.
Brainspotting: Adventures in Neurology book published
Professor Andrew Lees鈥� new book聽Brainspotting: Adventures in Neurology, the sequel to his memoir Mentored by a Madman: The William Burroughs Experiment is published by Notting Hill Editions. An autographed copy can be聽. All royalties will go to Cure Parkinson鈥檚 Trust.
