Impact CoP brings together staff across ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ for launch event

A new Community of Practice (CoP) for Impact launched at a hybrid event on Thursday 17 November.

The Impact CoP is for ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ staff involved in any aspect of impact work, from the initial inception of impactful ideas, to evaluation, evidencing, and communication of completed projects. The CoPÌýis led by Amy Beckett,ÌýResearch Impact Manager; Robyn Parker,ÌýCapabilities in Academic Policy Engagement (CAPE) Project Manager; and Tadhg Caffrey, Faculty Impact Manager.

The launch took place Thursday 17 November as a hybrid event to allow 42 ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ staff to attend in person and online. The CoP Sponsor Dr Kathryn Walsh, Executive Director of ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Innovation & Enterprise, presented the overall ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Impact strategy and the role of the Impact CoP within a wider context. Following the presentation, the leads and group discussed networked and discussedÌýproject ideas for the CoP.

“ÌýThis hybrid launch was a fantastic opportunity to connect in-person/virtually with other impact professionals across ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳. The co-leads had collated project ideas from the community in preparation and we were able to debate and discuss these together to decide how best to prioritise and take these forwards. It was a valuable opportunity to share ideas together and think strategically about impact needs across ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ and how to meet them."

Following its successful launch, the CoP will begin a programme of regular events, projects and networking for its members.Ìý
