Research Summary

Recently, there has been an explosion in the use of unstructured data (e.g., text, images, etc) across all applied fields of economics. However, the methodologies employed have been largely ad hoc and lacking in theoretical guarantees.听听The purpose of the grant is to develop new statistical theory and new methodology to guide the use of unstructured data in quantitative economic modeling. As such, it has great potential to improve the credibility and reliability of empirical work using unstructured data.听听听

The ERC awarded grants to 308 top scientists and scholars from across Europe as part of its EU Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
