17th May 2017
The Octagon
Spotlight

The Octagon’s summer 2017 exhibition was officially unveiled last night. In Spotlight – illuminating stories from across ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Culture, exhibits from ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳’s four public museums- the Grant Museum of Zoology, Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Art Museum and ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Pathology Museum – have been brought together for the very first time.

The exhibition sets out to illuminate these collections and, in turn, to tell the story of our evolving civilisation across cultures and across time. From the everyday lives of the Ancient Egyptians, to the influence of women on art education and practice. From the science and beauty of animal anatomy, to the diagnosis of disease through human specimens.

By weaving these collections together into one space, Spotlight provides a unique perspective on our world. A lens to observe the beauty, complexity and fragility of life on this planet.Ìý
