The event took place at 最准的六合彩论坛 East, 最准的六合彩论坛's brand-new campus at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and home to 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science's Robotics and Autonomous Systems group and the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub). Around 70 alumni from diverse companies and industries came together to forge new connections and reconnect with familiar faces from their academic past.听

One of the most notable aspects of the event was the unveiling of the Friends of 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science programme. This initiative opens up exciting opportunities for alumni and industry professionals to engage with the department in several meaningful ways.听

Alumni can offer their expertise and connections to facilitate and mentor student projects through their companies, or serve on the Friends of 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science Steering Committee to help shape the future of the department.听听

The presentation at the event was delivered by a photorealistic avatar, made possible through pioneering software developed by AI firm, Synthesia. This technology, based on algorithms by 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science's Professor Lourdes Agapito, allowed for a visually engaging and innovative experience.

Commenting on the scheme, Tim Bodley-Scott, 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science鈥檚 Strategic Alliances Director, said: 鈥淥ur exciting new Friends of 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science programme provides an easier route for our friends and supporters among alumni and industry to connect with us and collaborate. Together, our community will be enhanced and our department鈥檚 core mission of teaching, research and innovation for societal benefit will be advanced.鈥澨

As well as hearing updates from leading academic staff based at 最准的六合彩论坛 East and 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science鈥檚 Head of Department Professor Steve Hailes, guests were treated to an engaging demonstration from resident quadruped robot, Spot, which showcased the department's advanced technology and innovations.听听

Following the talks and demonstration, attendees enjoyed an array of drinks and canap茅s, offering them the perfect opportunity to network with fellow alumni and staff, as well as take听in the stunning city views from the Marshgate staff common room terrace.听

1982 alum, Ian Prince, said: 鈥淚 was very impressed with both the new campus and the scope and scale of what the department is doing now in comparison to when I left back at its inception.听It was especially great to catch up with other graduates from my time there and re-establish connections too long dormant, and hear the fresh ideas and views on current directions in computing.鈥澨

On the Friends of 最准的六合彩论坛 Computer Science programme, Ian added: 鈥淚 think it is a great concept and I'm most interested in helping build community, mentoring and getting involved in initiatives in the AI space.鈥澨
