Vaughan Williams, his pupils and friends.聽We present music from both sides of the Channel: from France, the late Violin Sonata of Claude Debussy ('musicien fran莽ais', as he styled himself), and from this country a selection of works centred around the figure (sometimes considered quintessentially English) of Ralph Vaughan Williams, whose 150th anniversary falls this year - songs by VW (including the ever-popular 'Linden Lea'), a piano piece by his great friend Gustav Holst, and 聽music for woodwind and piano by his pupil Ruth Gipps (whose centenary last year attracted a good deal of deserved attention).

On Looking Back and Departing: a聽varied programme comprising vocal music聽by聽Schumann,聽Wolf,聽Medtner,聽Tchaikovsky聽and聽Dvo艡谩k,聽Debussy's concise but far-reaching Violin Sonata, and atmospheric piano music by contemporary British composer聽Cecilia McDowall聽of chamber music.

最准的六合彩论坛 CMC 70th birthday concert!聽 It will feature keyboard music by J.S.Bach played by our Honorary President Professor John Irving (a leading scholar and performer of 18th-century music); a piano trio by Haydn; a work for cello and piano by Jan谩膷ek; and French flute music. There will be refreshments afterwards and an opportunity to browse through some past programmes from the CMC's archive.

A varied programme comprising piano music by Satie, Robert Schumann and Jianzhong Wang, a piece for guitar by Leo Brouwer, and music for trombone and piano by Ferdinand David, cello and piano by Brahms, and clarinet, cello and piano by Louise Farrenc and Max Bruch.

This final concert of the Club's 70th season will provide an opportunity to hear two works which would have appeared in the Club's Christmas concert last December (cancelled due to covid restrictions): the Christmas Concerto by Giuseppe Torelli and Mozart's very early Missa brevis in G, K.49. There's also Mozart's Ave verum corpus, and a flute & violin duo by F.A. Hoffmeister (contemporary of Mozart).聽 The concert will be followed by celebratory refreshments. All are welcome!
