Rethinking Capitalism: Places now available for civil servants and policy makers on our new course

We are delighted to announced that we have up to 15 places available for civil servants and policy makers to take our new undergraduate course 鈥淩ethinking Capitalism鈥, beginning January 2019.
Due to a high volume of interest in this exciting new course, we have decided to open up places to civil servants and policy makers.
Western Capitalism is in crisis, with falling productivity, investment and living standards, widening inequality, financial instability and the growing threat of climate change. This new course听will provide attendees with a critical perspective on these 鈥榞rand-challenges鈥 and introduce them to new approaches to economics and policy which challenge standard thinking.
The course听will draw on the book听, edited by听Mariana Mazzucato听(Director of IIPP) 补苍诲听. It will feature guest academic lectures from some of the chapter authors 鈥 including听Stephanie Kelton,听, Mariana Mazzucato 补苍诲听Carlota Perezas well as other world-leading economic thinkers such as听,听,听听补苍诲听听along with IIPP staff听Rainer Kattel 补苍诲听Josh Ryan-Collins.听
To give attendees a real understanding of modern-day policy challenges, these lectures will be combined with presentations by policy makers and advisors working at the frontline of the issues under discussion, including from the Bank of England, government departments and leading civil society organisations.
