Join our PhD programme - fully funded studentships in construction, economics and management

We are now inviting applications for fully funded PhD studentships - apply by 31 January 2018. Join our international centre for research in enterprise and project management, economics, and finance.

Applications are now open to join our PhD programme, with a number of studentships available to cover tuitionÌýfees and living costs for the three year duration of the programme.

Our highly diverse programme -Ìýboth in terms of interdisciplinary research domains and student background -Ìýis designed to support high-quality academic research and prepares students for careers as faculty members in top academic institutions.

Our PhD alumni have embarked on a number of different paths including academia, government, policy bodies, and industry, both in the UK and internationally.

CPM PhD students conduct research in the following areas:

  • Enterprise and project management -Ìýcovering areas such as strategic management, innovation, project management, leadership and organisational behaviour
  • Economics and finance of the built environment -Ìýincluding construction economics, infrastructure and real estate economics and finance, climate change economics, development economics, andÌýbehavioural economicsÌý

The programme emphasises closeÌýresearch collaboration between staff and studentsÌýinvolves a variety of research seminars and training activities to equip students with advanced research skills and competences. Students take part inÌýevents and meetings with academics and practitioners and contribute to a thriving academic community.

Students funded by the School contribute to teaching and related duties for approximately 25% of their time.

Applications are currently open until 31 JanuaryÌý2018 (later applications may be considered in exceptional circumstances).

Prospective students must apply online. All applications will be automatically considered for the studentship, unless the applicant expressly indicates their intention to opt out.
