Congratulations to Professor Andrew Hudson-Smith on being elected聽to become both a Fellow of the 聽(RGS) and聽 (FAcSS). Andy becomes a Fellow from聽Autumn 2022.聽

Professor Hudson-Smith聽was Director/Head of Department at CASA between 2010 and 2018 and is Professor of Digital Urban Systems. Most recently he has been co-launching and teaching聽on CASA's MSc Connected Environments.聽With a research focus on location based digital technologies he has been at the forefront of web technologies for communication, outreach and linked to the digital built environment. His contribution to knowledge and outreach in the fields of the Internet of Things, smart cities, big data, digital geography, urban planning and the built environment have been wide ranging with an impact strategy focused on policy, outreach and the public understanding of science.聽His research can be found at or @digitalurban on Twitter.
