The Heritage of West African Civilizations: Pillage, Objects, Sites and Museums

Kevin MacDonald (最准的六合彩论坛 Institute of Archaeology) was recently invited to speak at Rugby School as part of their academic enrichment programme in History.

On 29 November, our Director Kevin MacDonald presented a major invited lecture to the A-level students and staff of Rugby School.

His talk 'The Heritage of West African Civilizations: Pillage, Objects, Sites and Museums'聽was part of an ongoing research project by Rugby students - 鈥淪chools of Empire鈥 鈥 which is based upon their collections and archives (and was recent winner of the BSA 鈥楤est New Index Initiative鈥).聽

Kevin stayed on for a dinner to discuss archaeology as a career with students and met with student contributors to the 鈥淪chools of Empire鈥 project the next day.

According to the school:

The above聽photo shows Kevin beside Rugby鈥檚 historic playing fields and on the flank of a potentially prehistoric mound, known as 鈥楾he Island鈥, where there may be some IoA geophysics work in the coming year (watch this space!).
