Job Vacancy: Laboratory Technician in Biomolecular Archaeology

The ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician in Biomolecular Archaeology (Ref.: 1777472). The deadline for applications is 2 February 2019.

A Laboratory Technician is sought to provide biomolecular technical and laboratory support to the Principal Investigator of the . The primary role of the post is to assist with sample preparation of archaeological samples for biomolecular analysis.

Specific duties include: processing archaeological samples for stable isotope analysis and ZooMs analysis (and potentially DNA analysis), using wet chemistry techniques and running sample analysis at various ×î×¼µÄÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ isotope facilities in consultation with the laboratory managers.

The post is funded until 30 September 2020 in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a laboratory environment and a BSc in a relevant science discipline (e.g. chemistry, biology, biochemistry or equivalent) or background in relevant techniques. They will also have hands-on experience using wet chemistry techniques.
