Elise is an engineer from Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne in France. She was previously an intern within the PET/CT clinical team of GE Healthcare Europe and has worked as a developer in Nice.
Her PhD project is "Improving Quanitification in Lung PET/CT for the Evaluation of Disease Progession and Treatment Effectiveness", with a focus on Idopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). PET lung imaging is affected by many factors, such as luncg motion, tission fraction effector positron range. For this reason, obtaining quantitative measures in the lung is very challenging, especially for IPF patient aquisitions where changes in lung architecture and rigidity are expected. The aim of this PhD is to assess the effects on quantification from different sources of errors in the lung and to propose correction methods when needed. In particular, methods to correct for respiratory motion in static and dynamic PET are being poroposed.
